Dr. Parvez Rahman serves as a Cheektowaga Town Councilmember, making history as the first Asian American appointed to the Town Board. A proud Cheektowaga resident since 2022, he is committed to advancing an efficient, inclusive, and responsive local government.

Dr. Rahman holds a Bachelor of Science from St. John’s University, a Master of Business Administration from Pace University, and a Doctorate of Business Administration from California Southern University. He works as a Strategic Finance Partner, bringing expertise in financial management, data-informed decision-making, and people-centered leadership to public service.

Throughout his career and community involvement, Dr. Rahman has worked alongside elected officials, senior professionals, humanitarian workers, and civic leaders dedicated to strengthening their communities. His experience includes service as Secretary of the South Asian-American Voters Association, membership in Lions Clubs International, and board service with the Asian-American Chamber of Commerce.

A committed philanthropist, Dr. Rahman supports clothing and food drives, soup kitchens, and other initiatives serving individuals and families in need. He believes Cheektowaga’s budget can be managed more efficiently while protecting taxpayers from unnecessary financial burdens.

Dr. Rahman has been a member of the Queens County Young Democrats since 2017 and the New Visions Democratic Party since 2018. Since 2024, he has served as a Democratic Party Committeeperson. His leadership and service have earned several recognitions, including the Leadership of the Year Award from the New York State Executive Chamber.
